May 2 (SeeNews) - Croatian Adriatic port operator Luka Ploce [ZSE:LKPC] said its consolidated pre-tax profit fell to 2.4 million euro ($2.6 million) in the first quarter of this year from 3.3 million euro in the same period of 2022.
EBIT fell to 2.8 million euro from 3.8 million euro in the review period, Luka Ploce said in a statement filed with the Zagreb bourse on Tuesday. First-quarter EBITDA declined to 3.6 million euro from 4.4 million euro in the like period a year earlier.
The port handled 973,213 tonnes of cargo in the January-March period, down 17% on the year, mostly due to a drop of 28% in bulk cargo.
The volume of handled cargo in the first quarter of this year is 25% higher compared to the first half of pre-crisis 2021, it added.
The company's shares traded 4.72% higher at 13 euro on the Zagreb bourse intraday on Thursday.
