May 2 (SeeNews) - The total volume of electricity traded in the Kosovo-Albanian power exchange Alpex day-ahead market (DAM) amounted to 157.8 GWh in April, its third month of cross-zone trading, Alpex said.
Of the total, 83.7 GWh of electricity was traded for the Kosovo bidding zone, and 74 GWh for the Albania bidding zone, both with an average market clearing price of 61.04 euro ($65.38) per megawatt hour, Alpex said in a monthly report earlier this week.
Energy flow from the Albanian bidding zone towards the bidding zone of Kosovo reached 1.01 GWh, whereas Kosovo exchange members supplied 32.8 GWh to their Albanian counterparts.
Alpex, founded by Albania’s power transmission operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT in October 2020, has a total of 24 members in the bidding zones of Albania and Kosovo. Trading in the Albanian zone began in April 2023.
Its first auction in the Kosovo bidding zone, which also kicked off trade in the inter-zone exchange, was held on January 31, for the electricity delivered on February 1.
The total volume of electricity traded in the day-ahead market (DAM) in March amounted to 152 GWh, Alpex said last month.
